This indicator shows the percentage of low achieving pupils the proportion of 15-year-olds with attainment below level 2 in mathematics, based on results from the OECD's Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA). Level 2 is considered the baseline level of performance. Students at this level can: interpret and recognize situations in contexts that require no more than direct inference; extract relevant information from a single source and make use of a single representational mode; employ basic algorithms, formulae, procedures, or conventions; and reason and make literal interpretations of the results. The indicator can be broken down by gender.
