Clerical support workers

Clerical support workers record, organise, store, compute and retrieve information, and perform a number of clerical duties in connection with money-handling operations, travel arrangements, requests for information, and appointments. Most occupations in this major group require completion of the first stage of secondary education, but some occupations will require the completion of the second stage of secondary education. The tasks performed by clerical support workers usually include: stenography, typing, and operating word processors; entering data into computers; carrying out secretarial duties; keeping records relating to stocks; etc. Clerical support jobs include: typists and word processing operators, bank tellers and related clerks, telephone switchboard operators, receptionists, etc.
