The 2020  call for proposals for the European Commission’s Erasmus+ programme was published early November. The expected budget surpasses €3 billion, increased by 12% compared to 2019. Mobility in education and training rest at the core of Erasmus+, with even more opportunities offered to young Europeans to study, train or gain professional experience abroad. A second pilot on European Universities will be launched; while there is the aim to offer 35,000 opportunities for African students and staff to participate in the programme as part of the Africa-Europe Alliance for Sustainable Investment and Jobs
